Depression Referral Resources

Your family doctor's office is often a very good place to start when dealing with depression. Your doctor is likely to suggest some very good options. If you would like to consult with a specialist at any time your family doctor can give you a referral or you may choose to explore some options on your own. There are many qualified people around who can help you.

What is a Psychiatrist? The New York State Psychiatric Association (NYSPA) is the professional organization of New York State psychiatrists. Your family doctor or a cardiac rehabilitation staff member can refer you to a psychiatrist in your area or contact the NYSPA for a referral.
