AMI Depression
Depression Detection and Management in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Setting
The AMI-Depression project refers to a statewide collaborative effort being coordinated among IPRO, the New York Chapter of the AACVPR (American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation), and approximately 60-70 cardiac rehabilitation centers. The goal of this project is to promote the screening and treatment of depression among cardiac patients in New York State. The project is supported by CMS (The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services).Mission Statement
"The New York State AMI/ CABG Depression project is voluntary collaborative effort among cardiac rehabilitation facilities in New York State. The goals of this project include providing leadership and information promoting universal screening for depression among cardiac rehabilitation facilities in New York, and increasing the rate of appropriate treatment and/or referral of cardiac patients at risk for depression. This project will accomplish its goals through data driven process improvement, creation and dissemination of educational resources, and mutual sharing of best practices among all parties involved."
AMI Depression Resource Navigator
- For the Consumer, Family Member or Friend - The Navigator provides a gateway to further understanding of depression and access to helpful resources.
- For the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center Professional - The Navigator provides a quick assessment of current level of interest/capability and matches appropriate resources.
