SUBJECT: 7th Scope Of Work Pneumonia Conference Calls
IPRO CONTACTS:

Marguerite Shaffer, RN, CPHQ, extension 410

IPRO is hosting a series of Community Acquired Pneumonia conference calls with presentations by a national expert in pulmonary medicine, Michael Niederman, MD, FACP, FCCP, FCCM. Dr. Niederman is Chief of the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital and is a member of the expert panel for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) National Pneumonia Project.

These calls are designed to provide all hospital staff with the opportunity to learn the latest about the CMS quality indicator definitions for the National Pneumonia Project and changes in the 7th Scope of Work. There will also be a presentation on clinical guideline updates and the science behind the indicators.

We would like to extend an invitation to members of your quality department and relevant medical and nursing specialists to join the call. It is strongly recommended that attending staff, including those physicians who are clinically involved with caring for patients with this condition, be present as well.

These calls provide an ideal opportunity for physicians and nurses to ask clinical questions of an expert in pulmonary medicine regarding this topic area.

IPRO is currently applying for CME and CEU credits to be available for all participants who submit an evaluation.

Please refer to the list below for date and times of the conference calls.
